Quadrivium VII Research Training for Medieval Textual Studies
University of Glasgow
16 - 17 February 2012
Quadrivium is an annual training event, run by postgraduates and
academic staff and designed to offer UK and Eire postgraduates doctoral
research training in the area of medieval textual studies, both in
generic graduate attributes and in specialised research skills.
Quadrivium has proved hugely successful, attracting postgraduates from
institutions across the UK and Eire. It allows postgraduates in medieval
textual studies to develop their transferable skills in a
subject-specific area and provides a unique opportunity to network with
established researchers and other graduate students in their field. This
year’s event continues the excellent training offered since 2005, and
will focus around the theme of ‘Employability and Entrepreneurship:
Careers in Academia and Beyond’. High profile academics from across the
UK have been invited to present, to chair roundtable discussions and to
facilitate training activities, and a number of speakers have been
invited who have experience of careers outwith academia, namely the
British Library and the BBC. While the event is designed primarily for
UK and Eire postgraduates in medieval textual studies, students engaged
in medieval studies more broadly within the College of Arts at the
University of Glasgow are also invited to attend.
